This painting is part of an ongoing plein air painting series hosted by Misfit Gallery in La Jolla.  Each location is picked specifically for it's iconic and breathtaking La Jolla scenery.  This month's location: Torrey Pines, a breathtaking State Preserve of rare Torrey pines, miles of unspoiled beaches, and a lagoon to migrating seabirds.  After hiking all over the trails, I settled on this scene of a lone Torrey Pine, nestled amidst the rolling landscape, against the warm colors of setting sun.   Read more about it on my blog, 'Updates from the Easel'.
