'Big Sur Shanty' was painted during a recent art, surf and camping trip up the California Coast through Big Sur.  I enjoyed a two-night stay in the Los Padres National Forest at this camping spot.  After a long day of traveling, I was weary, but excited to paint the beautiful scenery everywhere.  I decided to stay close to camp, and set up my art supplies on the picnic table next to my tent.  I noticed a quaint shack  in the valley below, with colorful clothes on a line, blowing in the wind.  I decided it would be the perfect subject to get my brushes moving and the paint flowing.
