'Casa Courtyard' was painted 'en plein air', outdoors, during the Paint San Clemente Plein Air Competition.  During this event you'll either find me painting on the beach, or spending hours at 'Casa Romantica', a breathtaking historic Spanish style home, open to the public.  This painting was inspired by the Spanish-style architecture of Casa Romantica, and in particular, this lush courtyard with interesting Spanish arches and angles.
