“Chasing the Light” (12x16, Oil) was painted 'en plein air' overlooking the cliffs near Heisler Park in Laguna Beach.
After days of being completely swamped in fog, I was so excited to finally catch some sun on this particular afternoon. I had high hopes for a rare, beautiful sunset, and Mother Nature didn’t disappoint! It was a race against time to capture the moment before the sun dipped below the horizon, but sometimes spontaneity brings out the best work. Grateful the time crunch pushed me to create something special for the 2024 LPAPA Invitational. As a mentor artist, I was honored to have a piece in the Invitational Gala.
