The Coast Walk Series was painted en plein air as part of a series of paintings on location in La Jolla, Ca.  I had spent an entire morning painting in a nearby spot, and was excited to scout around to find another interesting scene to paint.  I didn't have to walk very far to discover this interesting outcropping of trees that seemed to perfectly frame my view.  I immediately set up my easel and began painting this "View Through the Trees".
