'Last Light, Kirk Creek' was painted 'en plein air' (outside, on location) at Kirk Creek Campground, in South Big Sur. It was my last night camping, during a two week long art-filled camping expedition. Of all the spots I camped, this was the most beautiful, with the campsites located on long, grassy slopes perched atop dramatic cliffs, which overlooked the most pristine coastline. On this particular evening, the light was warm and golden, as the sun sank into the horizon, and gave the rock outcroppings a pinkish glow.
