'Point Lobos Lookout' was painted 'en plein air' (outside, on location) at Point Lobos State Reserve, just south of Monterey, Ca. I was on an art sabbatical along the entire stretch of the Central Coast, spending hours and hours traveling, camping, surfing and painting outdoors. This was painted at a lookout above Whalers Cove, where the windblown Cypress and towering pine trees clung to the sides of the cliff, overlooking the most pristine and rugged coast.
