"Three and a Half Boats" was inspired by a recent trip to Catalina Island, California. It was a foggy early morning all over the island, so I decided to scout around for some fun boats to paint. I ended up on Avalon Pier, where I painted 'Three Boats', en plein air. I took plenty of photos for future paintings to paint from my studio. Thus, 'Three and a Half Boats' was born. It only seemed fitting to create a sequel to 'Three Boats'. I always have so much fun painting boats, with their unique quirks and interesting array of colors! Stay tuned for 'Four Boats'!
