As part of my painting series, 'Sunset Sessions', 'Wood's Cove Sunset' was inspired by an evening painting plein air (outside, on location) at Wood's Cove in Laguna Beach.  It was a warm January day, and the weather was perfect for painting into the sunset, barefoot on the sand.  The afternoon stretched into the evening, until I could no longer see my painting palette.   I was mesmerized by the warm glow of the setting sun dancing across the waves as they crashed against the rocks.  I couldn't wait to get back to the studio and paint it larger!  The result is this 48" x 24" painting, "Wood's Cove Sunset."
