This was painted en plein air at Crystal Cove State Beach, a beautiful beach known for it's sweeping views and quirky historic cottages which were built right on the beach in the 1930's.  I loved this view looking down onto the rooftops of this row of dilapidated cottages, which are soon to be remodeled. And I wanted to capture them in their dilapidated state before the renovations take place. You can read more about it on my blog.
