TRUSTY STEED: BALBOA ISLAND

As a member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association (LPAPA), I am always happy to participate in the many opportunities that this long-standing organization offers its members. One of my favorite things to do is meeting other artists in a specific outdoor location to paint. This generally happens all over Orange County, and is usually led by one of LPAPA's Signature Members, who paints a demo painting and walks around to offer individual advice and critique for every artist. This is invaluable as I definitely am in the camp of belief that we are all 'students for life'. Thus, I am always striving to learn more, improve more, and, hopefully, have fun in the process. This particular painting excursion was led by artist, Jeff Horn, whose art I love for its fresh, spontaneous brushwork and impressionistic style.
